With ¡Energy Lounge!, curator Sayoko Matsutani brings together art, science and the public to explore the theme of energy transition together with students from Academie Minerva. The project runs from 16 March to 20 April 2026 at ROAM in Zernike Campus and forms part of the Off-course programme at Minerva.

Identities in Transformation
OffCourse Identities in Transformation (2025/2026) focuses on the students themselves. The project explores personal and vulnerable struggles and raises life questions that often arise at this stage of life—such as shame, nostalgia, loss, and loneliness—showing how creativity can become a form of healing. Students use their own experiences as the starting point for this OffCourse.

Caring for Material Lives
Materials have a story. They bear traces of where they come from, how they are processed, what they are used for and what they leave behind. In Caring for Material Lives, eight master students from the MA Materials in Artistic Practices (MAPs, Frank Mohr Institute) display their own “material biographies”.

At the heart of this collaboration are students of Minerva, who have masterfully translated complex neuroscientific findings into captivating visual artworks. 'Brainstorm' is a key initiative of 'Science on Wednesday,' a joint effort by the University of Groningen, UMCG, Minerva, and the University Museum Groningen.
