Collaboration with cultural organisations

We are once again partnering with various cultural organisations in Groningen city centre, with the striking addition of former tobacco factory Niemeyer as a new location.

Based in our own buildings on Zuiderdiep and Praediniussingel and additional venues at Kunstpunt Groningen, Noorderlicht, Niemeyer, NP3 | RE:Search:Gallery, Sign and Pictura, the show will form a meeting place for the arts and culture sector, and the joint institutions will put emerging talent in the spotlight.

Art & Technology central in Niemeyer factory

A notable new addition this year is the collaboration with former tobacco factory Niemeyer. MWPO and Campus Groningen will develop this location into a dynamic place for the community with a focus on digital transformation in the coming years. In the future, the site will offer space for incubators, business, leisure and hospitality and will have a cultural public function.

Minerva Art Academy and Niemeyer are connecting on the theme of Art & Technology. In a world driven by technological developments that bring about social change, students are challenged to experiment with (unknown) technologies. They develop critical and innovative work that combines art, design and technology. Various works will be exhibited in one part of the factory, a selection of which will tie in with the Art & Technology theme. There will also be a network meeting where art & culture, education, creative industry and ICT meet.
