Ἡ Μεταμόρφωσις
I am a translator of stories.
My work is rooted in the female experience and stories shared with me by the women in my life who have held, shaped and transformed me. Through these experiences, I began my journey in documenting their voices, but along the way, I gradually found myself confronting a more difficult question: when do I begin to tell my own story?
This project emerged from that tension. Between collective memory and personal narrative, I started to recognise that the act of honouring others became inseparable from understanding myself. What began as a love letter to the women around me evolved into something more introspective.
An exploration of vulnerability, identity, and emotional inheritance. An exploration in understanding my body.
Through writing, reflection, and image making, I developed a body of work that is both deeply personal and intentionally open. I question whether my experience can resonate beyond myself: is vulnerability isolating, or can it become a shared space?
The work takes the form of an immersive audiovisual installation. The environment I create evokes the sensation of entering a body, moving through memory, intimacy, and internal space. The viewer is not positioned as an observer, but as a participant.
Stepping into something lived, a space that breathes, becoming part of a memory rather than witnessing it from a distance.
I consider this space to be sacred. It asks for slowness, attention, and care, just like entering a temple. At the same time, it is an offering: a space that belongs to the viewer as much as it does to me.
This work is an act of exposure and of connection. It is my attempt to transform (my) vulnerability into something shared. An embrace extended outward.
