Design - Product Design

Selena Kitana is a product designer with a multicultural background who creates jewelry about symbolism, culture, heritage and spirituality. She loves to experiment with different materials and techniques.

Her project is about multiculturalism and the feeling of being different in society. Selena firmly believes that you are not only shaped by where you come from, but also by what you experience. Especially when you grow up as a second generation immigrant, you carry two cultures with you and become a hybrid of both.

In this project Selena combines her techniques and interests to turn personal stories into something tangible. She seeks out the person behind the story and translates experiences into jewelry that speaks about who we are and where we come from.
Jewelry is her language, the stories that people carry, sometimes visible, sometimes hidden.
