Donkerbroek: Tsjusterboksem, 1998–2026

Tsjusterboksem, 1998–2026” is the first audiovisual iteration of a broader project titled “Donkerbroek.” It is a documentary displaying an internal depiction of my hometown, combining sculptural installations, field recordings and sound design, spoken dialogue, and fermentation processes.

The research within this project comes from both archival and site-specific research, combined with critical theory and various schools of philosophical thought. All in all, it is an accumulation of the last four years of my art education.

A heaviness looms over the town, as though the landscape itself has become suspended in time, yet beneath this stillness persists the pressure of passing. It is a search for questions, a coming to terms with what has shifted within an environment that often appears static.
