Nienke Timmermans is an animator and storyteller who focuses on psychology and social interaction in her work. She aims to make people more aware of their thought and actions through the medium of digital animation. She likes to walk the line between technology and art and believes that neither can exist without the other. 

Multitudes
In her graduation project, she explores themes of personality, authenticity and performance in a short animation. The character's appearance is enhanced with digital shading techniques that manipulate light, shadow and texture to express their personalities. The animation lays bare how different environments and people can bring out different personalities and traits in a person. By laying out an everyday scene, she allows the audience to identify with her characters and question the roles they themselves inhabit.
