Design - Off Road

The FYP

This is not just a book...

It is a shared interactive experience, not meant to be read passively. It is used, written in, and passed on, guiding the reader through a personal journey of becoming more conscious of how they spend their free time and where they place their presence.

In a world where reaching for a phone has become an almost automatic response to boredom, silence, or awkwardness, the book asks the reader to pause and reflect on what they do with their time.

Across four chapters, the reader moves from private to public environments: being alone, being alone in public, spending time with friends, and finally interacting with people beyond their usual social circle. Through tasks, reflection, drawing, and conversation, the book asks them to notice when and why they reach for their phone instead of being present.

Simply put, the book encourages young people to stop reaching for their phones and start reaching out to other people.
