Contrast and Synthesis
“Contrast and synthesis” is a project that emerged from my diverse interests and the experience of often feeling drawn towards surprising and new mixtures of styles, motifs and mediums. While collecting inspiration for my final project at Minerva, I kept realising the more subjects I found, the more they seemed to come back to the broader theme of combining contrasting, (sometimes even opposing) ideas into one design.
In my collection of posters, I attempt to lightly poke fun at some trends or approaches and explore the area in between them. From the wide rise of Anti-AI graphic design ruled by imperfection and appearance of hand made fonts to my personal style impacted by growing up in Poland and opening up to dutch influences after moving to Groningen.
