- Graduation work
Archive of Inspiration
As a multidisciplinary designer, Kim Naber explores themes such as intent versus outcome and structure versus freedom. Her graduation project, Archive of Inspiration, became a visual diary of motivation, inspiration, mood, and persistence through the creation of 500 drawings over the span of ten months. Quantity > Quality.
By committing to an intentionally excessive quantity of work, the focus shifted away from perfection and toward process. The pressure placed on the individual drawing disappeared, allowing space for experimentation, spontaneity, and creative freedom. Working intuitively and consistently, Kim approached drawing as a daily practice rather than a pursuit of ‘perfectly’ finished outcomes.
Through repetition, recurring visual choices and interests began to emerge, revealing aspects of her artistic identity and handwriting. The project explores how accumulation and persistence can become tools for self-discovery, and how creativity often thrives when perfection is no longer the goal.
