This Is How You Take Away Freedom
‘This Is How You Take Away Freedom’ is an interactive art installation where the visitor enters a dark room and, illuminated by a single streetlamp, encounters a dilapidated street wall with an ATM in front of it and three old payphones.
What begins as an innocent action, withdrawing money, transforms into an ominous choice when the visitor suddenly receives a question.
Told by an anonymous source, you discover the story about the existence of a secret manual, manipulation techniques, and mechanisms of power. You discover how we are manipulated into giving up our freedom. This project shows how vulnerable freedom and human rights are. How little is needed to take them away. Which diverse factors can restrict our freedom unnoticed. From creating chaos to deploying mass surveillance: everything serves one purpose: absolute control.
