Design - Spatial Design

Gather The Groove

In my practice, the public is never separate from the design; they are essential to it. I believe space only truly comes to life through presence and participation.

I designed a festival space that encourages community and the creation of memories through spatial design, visual arts, and shared experiences.  My personal interest in hip-hop as a form of expression became the cultural foundation and the design methodology of this project. I use its four core elements, MC-ing, DJ-ing, breakdancing, and graffiti, as a conceptual framework for design. Together, they create a design language that communicates identity, freedom of expression, and belonging.

By combining festival space, visual arts, and participation, I design an environment in which people don’t remain passive visitors but become contributors to the experience. My project represents an exploration of how spatial design can foster community in a temporary setting and create a lasting social and emotional impact.
