Zestre: Roots Unearthed
Anca is a graphic designer whose practice explores the intersection of personal narrative, cultural heritage and visual systems. She focuses on translating complex emotional communication layers into tactile, contemporary design.
Her graduation project reclaims a Romanian heritage she once felt vulnerable about, transforming it into a monument of pride. Inspired by her grandfather and her thesis, Between Structure and Chaos, Anca has created a two-meter tapestry paired with a complementary publication. Together, they form a modular visual language where traditional Romanian folk symbols, expressive typography, and digital textures collide.
The audience is invited to decode the work. As visitors explore the intricate details of the large-scale tapestry, the booklet serves as a legend, revealing the hidden meanings embedded within. By bridging ancestral stories with modern design, Anca invites viewers to experience the intense beauty and complexity of Romanian culture.
