Log of a Future Self
Sofía Murillo Lommers is a queer Costa Rican-Dutch artist working with embodied practices, sound, and performance. They explore new ways of relating through the lenses of decoloniality, antispeciesism, and hydro-feminism. In their practice, they weave together movement, breathing, sound, and written explorations to create layered and unhurried performance pieces.
Sofía aims to invite people into contemplative states, tapping into a hidden sense of belonging and responsibility toward the earthly ecosystems we are all part of. They are deeply affected by the impact of capitalism on both human and more-than-human bodies, embracing the grief caused by personal and collective loss. Their hope is to transform this grief into continuous inspired action towards decolonization and collective liberation.
They ponder: How can we become better ancestors?
