Woonkamer op Wielen
Everyone has their own experience of place; there's no single truth in the material world we navigate.
Neele Schlette works as a location-based artist, engaging with specific environments—a neighborhood, street, city, or village. She connects with people who live, work, or roam these places through conversations and interventions in public space.
Approaching place from a position of 'not-knowing,' connections and exchanges shape the process, resulting in projects that could take many forms: subjective mappings, visual works, collective moments, or collaborative efforts to address local concerns.
A recurring question in her work is: How do we relate to our surroundings?
Woonkamer op Wielen ("Living Room on Wheels")
Woonkamer op Wielen is a public intervention that moves through the Oude Noorden neighborhood of Rotterdam. It gathers experiences from people who live there on how climate, weather, nature, and temperature affect their daily lives. This intervention is part of a location-based artistic research project in collaboration with the University of Rotterdam.
