Devour me

Movement 0.5

Video installation by Moojan Video, sound, Sablé biscuits (butter, wheat flour, sugar, egg), 2025

In Movement 0.5, the domestic act of baking becomes a site of feminist resistance and ritual. This video installation captures the artist’s hands shaping Sablé biscuit dough—made of butter, wheat flour, sugar, and egg—while reciting Devour Me, a haunting poem born from lived experience and ancestral memory. Through rhythm, repetition, and raw vulnerability, the work reclaims the kitchen as a sacred stage for storytelling and confrontation. Drawing on Iranian mythology, particularly the figure of the goddess Anahita, the piece gives voice to stories that have long been silenced—offering space for the echoes of generational trauma, resilience, and resistance to finally be heard. Movement 0.5 invites the viewer not just to witness, but to feel: to taste the textures of pain, power, and transformation that rise—like dough—through the artist’s hands and voice.
