Mystic Microcosms
Lianne Regtuit explores the hidden beauty of bacteria and fungi, revealing a world where decay becomes creation. Her work emerges from living spores collected from everyday surroundings. These organisms paint her canvases made of nutrient-rich agar, forming intricate patterns, colors, and textures. Guided by curiosity, she experiments with microbial life, allowing natural processes to shape her work. Through her creations, she shifts perception and invites us to reconnect with nature. Honoring the unseen forces that shape our world, she evokes wonder and cultivates respect. What we cherish, we protect, for these forces are fundamental to our existence.
Mystic Microcosms
Mystic Microcosms features "Flourish & Fungi," where bacteria and fungi are cultivated and preserved through photographic prints, including experiments with mushroom preservation and Winogradsky columns. "Refracted Realities" explores microscopic structures using anaglyph prints, video, and a kaleidoscope made from microscope slides. All findings are documented in "Hidden Beauty: The Magic of Microorganisms," accompanied by a personal reflection.
