In drawings partially revealed and obscured by moving lights, and through an ongoing social and participatory animation project, Kiva Mitrea applies time-based systems to drawing(s) on paper. Grounded in the tangibility of material, these frameworks conjure and call attention to coincidence. Alongside this, she depicts alternative worlds, informed by fantasy fiction and the intimate and elaborate locations she visits while dreaming.
