Life is something no one experiences exactly as you do. Living means growing, getting hurt, and then healing. Sometimes we want to be as vulnerable as a baby; sometimes we just crawl back into our shells. And it doesn't matter, we're all living, like a deceased, like a whale, like a lion, like a doe, like a puppy, like a scorpion, like a butterfly. I feel my life, so you do too. Experiencing is a huge part of living. Jenny Yi-Jen Song presents her works as pairs of shoes that people can walk into, leading you to feel the life events of the artist and others.

宋宜蓁 Yi Jen Jenny Song (b.1997)

Jenny Yi-Jen Song (b.1997) is an artist born in Taipei, Taiwan, and currently based in Groningen.

"In my ritualistic performance practice, I aim to catalyze environments for collective healing through the ecstasy of every single being, releasing emotions from a container we call ourselves. I embody ancient knowledge from Taoism, Buddhism, Animism, and Shamanism within a modern/ancient perspective. I experiment with food, vocals, situations, and movements, exploring the transformative potential of space and experiences."

Jenny's performances delve into deep existential spaces where her personal consciousness and collective subconscious merge, fostering mutual attention between performer and audience, facilitating processes of actualization and self-transformation.
