Het land waar de dieren zoenen

Iris is a Product Designer who explores the boundaries of socially stimulating themes with playfulness and a keen eye. Inspired by unconventional thinking patterns, she asks questions about norms, expectations and uncomfortable themes. Her work balances between stimulating and accessible, with a strong focus on taboos. In her current project, the intimate relationship between sexuality and nature returns, in the form of an erotic film. Through critical observation and experimental design, she creates work that evokes confusion and recognition, and invites reflection and conversation.

Sex remains a taboo. Talking openly about sex often evokes prejudice, and-shaming is still a means by which women are suppressed in their sexuality. In our digital and fast-connected world, we often lose connection with nature and our deeper desires. This is reinforced by the speed with which sexual stimulation takes place, think for example of porn and dating apps, which reduce everything to a superficial interaction. I want to turn this haste and speed around. I want to argue for "slow stimulation": more attention for each other, for real connection and for our authentic, primal sexuality.

My goal is to make a film that stands for slow sexual stimulation. What if you have ultimate sexual freedom, what if we pursue our inner animal desires, what if the boundaries between desire pleasure and the rest of our lives blur?

What it all comes down to is freedom, I want freedom for sex, that it may be there, there in the middle of the world. For everyone to practice, explore and most importantly enjoy. Relax yourself, let yourself go, but also think about the other person. Sex in a precious part of you but also of others, respect that. Satisfy yourself and the other, satisfy nature, the animals and the world. Let your hands go through the grass, feel the wind caressing your hair, let the rain splash under your face, let yourself be penetrated by the vibration of good music, let your body take the fresh air from outside into your mouth.
