From 10 to 21 September, the Minerva Academy is presenting the exhibition BE HERE, BE YOU, BELONG. To mark her departure, artist and lecturer Sarianne Breuker has invited students, alumni and her colleagues Bernadet ten Hove, Loes Faber, Noor Nuyten, Susanne Luurs and Suzan Drummen – with whom she has worked closely over the past ten years – to present their work in dialogue with her own practice.
The exhibition explores how artistic and personal relationships form and deepen over time. The works showcase various forms of connection: between artists, between generations, and between memory and imagination.
Sarianne Breuker's will be on view in the Koepelzaal. At the same time, an open Salon is taking place in the ground-floor space. Here, Minerva students and alumni present work exploring presence, authenticity and the question of what it means to feel connected to others, to a place or to oneself. The Salon continues to evolve into a polyphonic collection of images, stories and perspectives.
Together, both exhibitions form an encounter between established and emerging voices. The network of relationships, experiences and ideas is constantly in flux.
What connects us? When do we feel seen? And how do we shape our place within a larger whole?
