Pink Stained Glass
The connection one feels towards whom they admire; their parasocial relationships. It’s something so common and yet so embarrassing for many. Nonetheless these delusions of intimacy are accompanied by real emotions and affect the lives of real people. It’s this necessity mine to acknowledge and explore this side of the human psyche, that brought this comic to existence.
In this first tome of what will be a two-part story, the reader follows the protagonist’s journey, who while struggling to find her footing in a new city and a new college, finds herself strangely allured by one of her new classmates. She doesn’t even know this girl’s name, and yet the protagonist can’t help but think about her; admire her; and be haunted by this girl in pink.
Through the use of the colour pink along and objects like mirrors and masks, the story pretends to portray the internal and external world of the main character while she navigates her own existence, increasingly tormented by the idea of her classmate.
I wish for the public to not only put themselves in the shoes of the protagonist but to think about their own parasocial relationships and their effects on them. It could be a fictional character, a person they saw on the street or a celebrity.
