Dromen/Innerworld in het UMCG

De tentoonstelling Dromen/Innerworld toont werken die zijn ontstaan binnen de Professional Practice, waarin tweedejaars studenten Autonome Beeldende Kunst aan Academie Minerva zich verdiepten in het thema dromen.

Valeria Glibiciuc, tweedejaars student Fine Art: “To me, dreaming exists in that space between what is real and what is imagined. It’s not separate from life, but shaped by it, influenced by the people we meet, the places we inhabit, and the experiences we carry with us each day. For me, dreams act like an internal archive, where fragments of our surroundings and feelings come together in abstract and poetic ways. This idea became the foundation for my work.”

De studenten onderzochten de relatie tussen alledaagse ervaringen en de dromen die daaruit voortvloeien. Dit artistiek onderzoek heeft geleid tot een breed scala aan disciplines en stijlen – van schilderkunst en fotografie tot ruimtelijk werk - waarbij soms absurde beelden worden samengevoegd en vervaagd. 

Valeria: “In my painting process, I work with fragmentation and transparent layers to build up the image gradually. Rather than creating a single, fixed scene, I see the artwork as an accumulation of fragments, small pieces of memory, feeling, or observation, that come together to form a larger, cohesive whole.”

Te zien zijn negen uiteenlopende kunstwerken die ieder op een eigen manier reflecteren op de fluïde grens tussen dag en nacht, tussen werkelijkheid en verbeelding. De werken zijn momenteel te zien in het UMCG en vormen een visuele verkenning van de innerlijke belevingswereld.

“Exhibiting the work at UMCG brought a new dimension to the project. A hospital is a space filled with complex emotions, vulnerability, hope, waiting, and I was mindful of how my work might resonate in that context. I aimed to create something open and gentle, offering a quiet moment of reflection or calm for whoever encounters it, whether patients, visitors, or staff.”
